Wedding Suppliers We Love!

If you’re a newly engaged couple planning your wedding in or around the Glasgow area then you’ve come to the right place! Today we’re sharing some of our favourite Glasgow wedding suppliers.

The Gibsons Photographers

We can’t sing enough praises for The Gibsons photographers. These guys are a husband and wife team who have a beautiful ‘photo book’ approach of capturing your wedding as the day unfolds. Their style is light and romantic with a very natural style – no cheesy posing. They are also a really lovely couple – so relaxed and fun. We are slightly biased as these guys photographed our founder’s own wedding – you will even be able to spot some of their beautiful photographs on our website. They are extremely unobtrusive, and you’ll even forget they are there at times. The result? Beautifully natural and romantic photographs that will have you reliving your wedding day weeks, months and years after! We could go on about them all day…book them.Trust us, you will not be disappointed.

Dalmeny Park House Hotel

We have to give a mention to Dalmeny Park House Hotel, one of Scotland’s premier wedding venues. Nestled in a beautiful little area in the Southside of Glasgow, surrounded by trees you’d be forgiven for driving right past without noticing. That’s what makes Dalmeny a hidden gem. This beautiful mansion house also features in photographs on our website. Not only are the rooms and interior absolutely beautiful but the grounds are also glorious. Come rain or shine, this Glasgow wedding venue is set to leave a lasting impression on your guests and makes the most gorgeous backdrop for wedding photos. You are also in very good hands as the wedding coordinators go above and beyond to meet your every need. Furthermore, it’s only a short drive from Glasgow city centre yet the private grounds will have you feel like you’re in the country side.

Eleganza Sposa

Glasgow certainly isn’t short of bridal boutiques so if you’re planning a day of wedding dress shopping you’re in for a real treat. One of our favourites has to be Eleganza Sposa. It’s no surprise this bridal shop is award winning. It is the only boutique in Scotland to carry a number of premier bridal designers including Suzanne Neville, Riki Dalal, Savin London, Lorelle Atara, Martina Liana Luxe as well as many others. All of the bridal styles are hand-picked with only the most luxurious top quality fabrics, expert craftmanship and modern, chic details. They also carry their own exclusive in store brand, Eleganza Iconica, and offer a bespoke service if you’re after a one of a kind dress. They also host designer days where you can go along and meet your favourite bridal designers as well as trying on some new season styles. Trying on dresses can be fun for some and stressful for others but trust us, you are in good hands at Eleganza Sposa. The staff are all super friendly and really do care about helping you find your dream dress. Whatsmore they stock a range of styles to suit a range of budgets.

Piece of Time Media

Video footage of your wedding day is priceless. In years to come it’s something you’ll be able to look back on and relive with friends and family and even show to future generations.  Camera shy? Don’t worry, the videographers over at Piece of Time Media will slot perfectly into your day, capturing all those special moments from a distance so you really won’t even notice that they’re there! Again, it has to be mentioned that these guys are so professional, friendly and easy going – no awkward posing – and they just ‘know’ how to make you look good. That has to be a bonus right?

Rachael Hunter Makeup / Stephanie McDowell Makeup

Getting ready on your wedding morning should be relaxing and worry-free. All the hard work and stress from wedding planning is over and you can sit back and relax knowing that you are in good hands with these fantastic makeup artists – Rachael Hunter and Stephanie McDowell. These ladies are solo makeup artists but you’ll often find that with larger bridal parties you’ll have to book a couple of MUAs to help spread out the workload, which is why we’re recommending two of our favourites in the business. These ladies have such a happy and calming demeanour you’ll feel like they are a part of the bridal party! In addition to this, these ladies really are makeup wizards and will leave you looking and feeling your absolute best. They do a great job at keeping everyone on track with timings and keeping everything ahead of schedule which makes for a perfect, smooth sailing morning.

Tina Kelly Beauty

When it comes to bridal hair, Tina Kelly is who you want to book. Tina not only has award winning talent with bridal hair styling and beauty but she also brings so much fun and laughter to the table – another thing you need on your wedding morning. There isn’t anything Tina can’t do and she’s so knowledgable about all things hair. If you have any hair worries she’ll put you straight at ease and will be sure to bring your vision to life. Be sure to check out her social media as she is also an incredibly talented makeup artist, specialising in bridal makeup. We love that she often posts new hairstyles and makeup looks to her facebook page and instagram which is perfect if you are looking for some bridal hair or makeup inspiration!

Ruth Mackay Harpist

Nothing sets a romantic ambience quite like the harp which is why it remains one of the most popular choices of instrument for wedding ceremonies and drinks reception. Ruth Mackay is a talented Glasgow based harpist (Scottish harp) and singer with a repertoire list as long as your arm! From classical music, Scottish, pop, Ruth really does cover all bases. Music is such a key element of any wedding and the great thing about Ruth is that she will slot into your day so easily and create the most perfect ambience. There’s something so calming about the harp too which is perfect for your guests arrival and it also sets the tone for the day. Let’s not forget about entrance music and of course background music during your drinks reception. We can’t think of anything more romantic than sipping champagne, catching up with friends and family and having the beautiful sounds of the Scottish harp in the background.

Aurora Wedding Band

Whilst we’re on the subject of music we need to mention Aurora Wedding Band who may just be the best live band we’ve ever heard…seriously. These guys are sure to get the party started. We love how Aurora cater to everyone so believe me when I say that everyone will be up on the dancefloor by the time they’re onto their second piece of music! The great thing about Aurora is that they play at events throughout the year so there’s always the option to pop along and listen to them perform beforehand, and if you can’t wait for that then check out their facebook page as they regularly upload videos.

PiperDan

Where do we start with PiperDan! What an amazingly talented person and such a pleasure to deal with. There are a lot of talented pipers in Scotland but Dan has to be up there as one of the best and even featured in an advert for Simon Howie Butchers (you can see the ad on his website linked above). There’s just something about a piper and a Scottish wedding. They really do go hand in hand don’t they and it’s definitely something everyone loves hearing especially to welcome the bridal party.
